Preschool children (ages 3 ½ - 5) are invited to participate in songs, stories, and fun learning activities this summer! Children and parents keep a Reading Record of the books read from Wednesday, May 29 through Friday, July 19. For each book read, fill out an entry ticket and drop it in the BIG preschool can located behind the Children’s Desk. The more tickets, the more chances to win the GRAND prize. Once 10 books are recorded, go to the Circulation Desk to receive an invitation to our Preschool Summer Reading Finale on Wednesday, July 24 at 11 am. Lunch, prizes, and awards will be handed out to our star readers!

Teens are encouraged to participate in the Summer Reading Program by simply reading. Read all summer long! For each book read (at reading level), earn five tickets. Read anything else (magazines, newspapers, graphic novels, etc.) and earn a single ticket. Keep track all summer by writing titles on your Reading Record and check in at the Adult Services Desk (upstairs) to receive prize tickets. Drop tickets in the can of your choice for a chance to win space-themed gift baskets. The more you read, the more entries you have, and the better your chances are to win! The last day to get tickets is Friday, July 19. Recent high school graduates can choose to register as a Teen or as an Adult.
Adults are encouraged to read books and attend programs to earn chances for grand prize drawings. Each book read and each program attended earns one ticket to place in the prize can of your choice! Examples of prizes include gift cards, prize baskets, and more. Stop by the Adult Services Desk to pick up your official Reading Record, to record your reading, and to claim your reading prize tickets. Those readers who reach the goal of four books will win a free book from a selection at the Adult Services Desk. The last day to record your books is Friday, July 19 and prize winners will be notified on Wednesday, August 21 to include tickets earned at all Adult summer programs. Trivia games and brain teasers will be held each week with prizes for winning entries.
