It’s almost time for a visit from Santa, so the FRIENDS of the Library are busy preparing for the Winterfest Book Sale. The sale will be held December 6, 7, and 8 in conjunction with the city’s Winterfest event. Join us on the second floor of the Library for biographies, special gift books, and many other non-fiction selections. Fiction will be available at the Book Nook as it is year-round.
Please note that we have revised our sales to only accept donations. Other FRIENDS organizations function in this manner and in the fall the FRIENDS’ board voted to revise our collection method. We ask that you continue to take your selections and donation to the Circulation Desk. The friendly Library staff will be happy to accept your donation and also provide change if necessary. Don’t forget to also check the book bike special Pop Up sales for additional book selections. We regularly rotate non-fiction books that we think are of interest.
In the past several months we have been able to provide additional funding to the Library for the very successful Summer Reading Program, as well as fund repairs to the flooring throughout the Library. The latter because of a generous donation from Drinian Press LLC. We are also planning on adding to the fleet of carts at the Library before the end of this year. Your generous donations allow us to provide improvements to the Library, enhancing your visit.
Friends of the Huron Public Library Board Meetings are held on the fourth Tuesday of each month at 3 pm.
NOTICE OF MEETING DATE CHANGE FOR JANUARY: The Friends Executive Board meeting for January will be held on January 21 at 3 pm, instead of the regularly scheduled fourth Tuesday meeting.
